In one of Masterclean®’s previous blog entries ( 17 August 2010 ) we informed readers about an extremely disatisfied customer who had her wool carpet cleaned by a local company with disastrous repercussions. Please re-read the article refering to Mrs G. of Exeter EX1 noting the following update.
Last week Masterclean®’s technicians called at Mrs.G’s house to rectify the damage caused to her carpet by a local cleaning company using inappropriate cleaning methods, equipment and solutions for the job in hand ie. they cleaned a wool carpet as if it were manufactured from polypropylene having misidentified the fibres, thus leaving the carpet ‘unfit for purpose’ and to all intents perhaps damaged beyond repair.
Mrs G’s carpet was cleaned in the above way by a company presently advertising the claim they are the “no1 choice” for carpet cleaning in Devon and Exeter, proclaiming themselves to be Devon’s “premier” domestic and commercial carpet cleaners, boasting membership of the National Carpet Cleaners Association ie (NCCA) and the Devon Trading standards scheme ‘Buy With Confidence’ !!!
Upon reading Masterclean®’s blog on the matter (knowing they were the guilty party refered to) albeit their company’s name was never mentioned, this NCCA member made numerous attempts both by mail and telephone to bully and intimidate Mrs G into withdrawing her justified legitimate complaints with a view to silence her, at which point Mrs G ageed to allow Masterclean ® write to the company in question, which we did.
Masterclean®’s resulting correspondence, amongst other things, informed them we would disclose their company’s identity to the public via Masterclean®’s blog should their harrassment of Mrs G not immediately cease. Mrs G has not been bothered by them since, which is just as well. They however, best read carefully should Masterclean ® decide to do so in the future.
Irrespective of unprofessional, inadequate service, dished up to members of the public masquerading as expertise, further attempting to intimidate and harrass customers who voice genuine concerns about poor inadequate service and workmanship in order to keep them silent, is unforgivable.
Having called for Masterclean®’s assistance to try to rectify the awful state her wool carpet had been left in, Masterclean ® attended Mrs G’s house last week and sucessfully carried out the job, much to Mrs G’s relief. Furthermore, we are pleased to report that Mrs G has since telephoned Masterclean®’s head office and spoken to the technician who carried out all the expert rectification work Mrs G’s wool carpet required, to once again make it pristine and the following is the gist of Mrs G’s conversation with him, and we quote:
I felt i had to call you to offer my thanks once again for the expert carpet cleaning rectification work you carried out in our home last week.
I really cannot thank you enough. Both my husband and myself are totally delighted with the results of the work, our carpet looks like it did when it was first put down, even my husband commented on how wonderful it looks and it now feels like wool again, soft under foot and wonderfully clean.
Your technicians explained everything so thoroughly, even giving myself and husband a small chemistry lesson before they began, informing us of exactly what was going to happen and more importantly, why.
Everything was carried out in such a friendly professional manner and as i said before we really cannot thank you enough.
One thing is certain, you have a customer for life, we will never go to any other company for our carpet and upholstery cleaning, we really are so grateful.
Thank you for your kind words Mrs.G, (we know you and your family are reading this), and we appreciate them very much. Thank goodness we were able to rectify the damage caused, it was a tricky process carried out with the utmost care and we are so happy we could help.
Please Note:
Everyone should beware and remember, that being a member of a carpet cleaning association or trading standards scheme does not guarantee a good “expertly executed” job, and is quite evident from Mrs. G’s experience. It is a fact that individuals can attain fully qualified paid up membership of various cleaning associations and trading standards schemes with very little knowledge or indeed even effort. In fact they may have never physically cleaned a carpet, an article of furniture, a valuable rug or curtains and still qualify!!!
The individual who cleaned Mrs G’s wool carpet and virtually ruined it, has operated as a company in the cleaning industry waving the banner of the “National Carpet Cleaners Association” and “Devon Trading Standards Buy With Confidence Scheme” for some years yet could not tell the difference between wool and polypropylene, that is a fact !!!
It is not the first time by any means, this particular company has come to Masterclean®’s attention.
Talk is cheap and self praise is no praise at all, so when refering to oneself as “Devon’s premier no1 choice” carpet cleaners, it is as well to thoroughly, and exhaustively learn the profession beforehand, since the truth will always come out, Masterclean ® know this as does Mrs G of Exeter EX1 . Unfortunately some people, do not speak out and suffer in silence. They should grasp Mrs G’s banner and contact Masterclean ®.
We will take up their cause for them.
