| Masterclean® has recently noticed much conflicting information in the local/national press, and also on the internet, regarding methods of carpet, upholstery & curtain cleaning, promising results ranging from hopeful, to absolutely ridiculous. Do not be fooled by large glossy ads promising the best clean ever or it's free. These do not necessarily guarantee a great job. Similarly, professing membership of carpet and fabric cleaning associations, does not mean you always receive excellent service or proficiency. In fact, some of the worst carpet and fabric cleaning blunders we see in the field today are committed by members of these associations, who should know better. This is why Masterclean® choose not to be involved with such organisations. If you find it difficult to obtain advice and quotation over the telephone for the articles you require cleaning, and your contact appears negative or unprofessional, then the company you are considering employing could be just that, so make another choice. A good cleaning company, irrespective of the job required, should be able to give you a firm price over the telephone. Personal inspection of the articles requiring cleaning is not necessary in order to quote. Upholstery, carpets and curtains should always be quoted from set prices (furniture 'per seat', carpets & curtains 'per square metre'). The exception to this rule being large commercial premises, needing inspection in order to make an accurate assessment of exactly what is required. Expert carpet and upholstery cleaners always arrive fully equipped to cover every circumstance and eventuality, despite condition or level of soiling. The phone price quoted should be the price paid, subject to specialist treatments if required, i.e. specialist stain removal and/or carpet and fabric protection etc., all prices should be quoted inclusive of VAT. Without doubt, the best cleaning method possible for most fibres and fabrics is 'water extraction cleaning', although dry cleaning has its place for certain water sensitive carpets and materials, low moisture and very low moisture cleaning such as the Masterclean® DRY system can also be useful in many situations. Every cleaning operative should be fully equipped for either circumstance, possessing knowledge, expertise and skill, to apply the correct cleaning method for the job in hand. Whether truck mounted or portable machines it doesn't really matter. It is how the cleaning operative uses the tools and cleaning solutions at his disposal, plus his knowledge, experience, and effort, that results in a good job. Gimmicky cleaning methods, of which there are many!, promising the world, are exaggerated. They deliver very little and invariably result in disappointment. From a customer's immediate point of contact, they should quickly become aware, the organisation they are speaking with are professional, knowing their business. Noting that the most expensive quotation does not necessarily produce the best results, neither does the cheapest. In summing up it must be said, choosing a proficient carpet and fabric cleaning company to trust with your furnishings, from the thousands of advertisers available, (one you would be pleased to recall again and again), is not a simple task.
